Question 1

How do I determine the optimal cane length?

Accepted Answer

Stand straight in your regular shoes with arms relaxed and measure from the floor to your wrist crease. Our standard cane length is 36 inches (92 cm), and we can shorten it for free before shipping based on your measurement.

Question 2

How do I shorten my walking cane myself?

Accepted Answer

Remove the rubber tip, measure and mark your length from the palm support, wrap masking tape above the cut line to prevent splintering, detach the handle, cut straight across, then reinstall the rubber tip. Bronze series canes cannot be shortened manually.

Question 3

Can I order a longer cane than the standard size?

Accepted Answer

Yes, select the length option marked as a paid extension directly on the product page dropdown. Pricing varies by collection, typically between $7.50 and $24.50, and the total updates automatically in your cart.

Question 4

How do I know if a cane handle fits my hand size?

Accepted Answer

Each cane has a fixed, non-adjustable handle suited to a specific hand size range. Massive carved designs fit medium to large hands, sleek compact designs fit smaller hands, and ergonomic handles suit all sizes. Check the specifications on each product page.

Question 5

Are cane handles interchangeable between canes?

Accepted Answer

Handles are interchangeable only within the same collection, since shaft dimensions differ between series. Contact us with the specific designs you are interested in for exact compatibility.

Question 6

How do I install a leather wrist strap on my cane?

Accepted Answer

Depending on the model, the strap attaches via a washer connection for canes with a brass ring, an elastic loop for standard shafts, or a lace tie for hand-carved canes with tall handles.

Question 7

Can I use a walking cane if I have a serious health condition?

Accepted Answer

Our canes are not registered medical devices. If you have a serious musculoskeletal condition, are prone to falling, or have had related surgery, we recommend using the cane only after consulting your therapist.

Question 8

What is the weight support limit of a walking cane?

Accepted Answer

Solid wooden canes support up to 250 lbs, Bronze & Wood canes up to 260 lbs, and Ergonomic solid canes up to 360 lbs, assuming correct grip and a standard 36 inch length.

Question 9

How do I hold a walking cane correctly?

Accepted Answer

Place your palm firmly over the center of the handle with the shaft running between your index and middle fingers, keeping pressure aligned with the vertical axis. Never lean on the back part of the handle, as this can cause it to snap.

Question 10

What types of wood and finishes are used in GC-Artis canes?

Accepted Answer

We use premium European Oak and Ash, dried for 120 days to prevent cracking, then sealed with a hypoallergenic acrylic lacquer from SIRCA S.p.A. that meets EN71/3:2019 safety standards.

Question 11

Are GC-Artis walking canes truly handmade?

Accepted Answer

Most collections involve 75 to 80 percent hand-carving by Ukrainian artisans, with CNC machinery used only for initial rough shaping on select ergonomic models that require precise repetition.

Question 12

Does the cane come with a rubber tip and strap included?

Accepted Answer

Yes, every cane ships with the handle and shaft, a standard rubber or metal tip, and a genuine leather wrist strap connected via a washer, loop, or lace mount depending on the model.

Question 13

What size rubber tip do GC-Artis canes use?

Accepted Answer

Standard wooden canes use a universal 3/4 inch (19mm) rubber tip, widely available at pharmacies and medical supply stores. Bronze & Wood canes use a metal tip with a removable rubber pad.

Question 14

Why are some similar canes cheaper on other websites?

Accepted Answer

Authentic GC-Artis canes are sold only through our official channels at a standardized global price. Significantly cheaper listings on marketplaces like AliExpress or Temu are counterfeit copies using stolen photos.

Question 15

Where do you ship from and how long does delivery take?

Accepted Answer

We ship primarily from Ukraine, with select bestsellers stocked in a US warehouse. Delivery typically takes 7 to 12 business days to the USA, 7 to 10 to Europe, and 10 to 18 days to other regions.

Question 16

How do I track my order and identify the carrier?

Accepted Answer

The tracking number prefix indicates the carrier handling last-mile delivery, such as 1Z for UPS, TBA for Amazon Shipping, or 9 for USPS. You can enter your tracking number directly on our tracking tool.

Question 17

My tracking says delivered but I have not received my package, what do I do?

Accepted Answer

Check all possible delivery spots around your home, ask neighbors, and review security footage. If still missing, open an investigation claim on the carrier's website immediately using your tracking number, and contact us for a replacement or refund.

Question 18

Will I be charged import duties or VAT on my order?

Accepted Answer

USA customers pay no extra fees since duties are covered in the checkout price. Customers in Europe, Canada, and other regions may be charged local VAT or import duties by customs upon delivery.

Question 19

What is your warranty policy?

Accepted Answer

We provide a full 30-day warranty covering manufacturing defects and delivery damage, followed by a limited 90-day warranty for hidden wood defects, plus lifetime support for ordering replacement parts.

Question 20

Do you accept custom or fully personalized cane orders?

Accepted Answer

We are not currently accepting brand new custom designs due to existing project commitments, but a one-of-a-kind design starts from $500 with a lead time of 1 to 3 months. Send us your idea and we may have something similar already.

Question 21

What quick personalizations can I add to a cane?

Accepted Answer

Available options include free shortening, paid length extensions, an elegant brass tip upgrade, custom color painting, additional wood carving, and laser engraving up to 5 characters for free.

Question 22

What is your return policy?

Accepted Answer

Returns are accepted within 30 days. Defective or damaged items qualify for a full refund or replacement with return shipping covered by us, while change-of-mind returns require the buyer to cover return shipping costs.

Question 23

Do you offer discounts or sales on walking canes?

Accepted Answer

We offer a 10 percent automatic bundle discount on 2 or more canes, up to 15 percent off for veterans, a loyalty discount for returning customers, and seasonal promotions, though we generally avoid large sitewide sales.

Question 24

Do you sell discounted canes with cosmetic imperfections?

Accepted Answer

Yes, we occasionally offer fully functional canes with minor cosmetic flaws like a small varnish smudge or wood knot at up to 50 percent off. Contact us to see current availability with photos.

Question 25

How should I store and protect my walking cane?

Accepted Answer

Always use a correct grip to avoid uneven pressure on the handle, and avoid leaving the cane in direct sunlight, hot vehicles, or near heating devices, which can cause the wood to dry, crack, or warp.

Question 26

How do I clean and polish my wooden or metal cane?

Accepted Answer

Wipe with a soft, slightly damp cloth and dry immediately, avoiding submersion in water or abrasive cleaners. Apply a light coat of furniture wax or wood polish once or twice a year to maintain its finish.

Question 27

Can I fix minor scratches or dents on my cane at home?

Accepted Answer

Minor scratches can be touched up with a color-matched furniture restoration marker, while shallow dents can be filled using a wax stick matching the wood color.

Question 28

What should I do about deeper structural damage to my cane?

Accepted Answer

For significant breaks or deep chips on carved elements, use a high-quality two-part epoxy, and for extensive damage consult a professional furniture or wood restorer.
